My 2 Cents Worth - Editor's Chit-Chat

Hi All!

Welcome to another Sunday with yours truly and thanks so much for letting me be a small part of your day. :~) If you're new today, a warm welcome to you. I hope you'll enjoy the issue.

Brrrrrrrrr!! It sure is cold in my neck of the woods. Many parts of the US and Canada are having similar cold weather and snow. Winter didn't arrive as early as normal this year, but now that it's here, it's hitting hard.

We got at least a foot of snow in the last couple of days, and it's predicted to keep coming down. The skiiers and snowmobilers are happy, not to mention the local businesses who count on these winter tourists to bring in revenue.

There's a snowmobile trail at each end of my street, both about 250-300 feet away, and they've been hopping with snowmobilers day and night. Sometimes they zoom past my house going from one trail to the other - 4, 5, 6 of them at a time. My cats always run to the window to see what all the noise is. LOL

Some of you wrote to me after my last issue, wondering if I got my rodent problem taken care of in the garage. Well, maybe. I'm not sure yet.

We caught another of the little critters a day or two after I published the newsletter. Then a couple days later one of the traps was moved, so I knew there was still at least one more out there. But since then there have been no signs of them, so maybe they're gone now. I hope so. Eeeeeeewwwwwwww!! LOL

I'm hiring a handyman to come over and stuff all the crevices with steel wool. Rodents can't chew through that, and as far as I know that's the best way to keep them out. So I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be rodent-free after that.

Well, it's time to let you get on with the rest of the issue. Don't forget to check out the new bargain basement special below. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. :~)

Oh, and I added some new stuff to the "gems" section below, too, so don't miss them. Of course, there's also two great articles to sink your teeth into, so I'll let you get on with it.

I'll see you in two weeks! Until then, be profitable.

Denise

The Basic Dilemma Of Internet Marketers That You're
Probably Struggling With Also -- And What To Do About It

By Marlon Sanders

There's a basic dilemma all Internet marketers face:

Learn the new methods that get better results

Versus --

Do the basics that you know work.

If you want to make maximum profits, then you need to learn and use the latest methods on the one hand.

On the other hand, if you want to make maximum profits, you have to DO things and FOCUS. You can't learn everything and do everything.

It's a classic double bind.

If you spend all your money and time learning new things to get better results, then you don't have time to DO the things you know work.

At the same time, if you spend all your time DOING, you often miss out on the easy profits created by newer, more state-of-the-art methods.

This puts internet marketers in a real time crunch because a person can't do both -- learn all the new methods hitting the market practically weekly AND also DO what needs to be done to make a profit.

What's the solution?

I call it breathing. It's a natural rhythm. You learn. Then you do. You learn. Then you do.

If you get stuck in learning and don't do, you won't make the most you can. And vica versa, if you DO but don't learn, you'll spin your wheels and quite possibly not succeed.

In my case, I'm devoting this whole entire year to implementing just one new SYSTEM of thinking in my business.

I started on this system one year ago. And I let myself get quickly sidetracked last year. I decided that this year, I want to take the one concept and fully and completely implement it.

I talk to some marketers who just don't know what they're doing. They REALLY need to learn more. They need to learn about writing copy, graphics, doing surveys, finding markets and product creation.

On the other hand, there are MANY marketers who HAVE been in this business 3-5 years and know all the basics and some of the advanced stuff.

Yet, they just don't get products out. They don't get promos done. They get caught up in the paralysis of analysis and don't do ANYTHING.

That's why the natural rhythm of money is to learn and do. Learn and do. If what you DO doesn't work, it's time to LEARN some more. But if you haven't DONE what you've LEARNED, it's time you focus on DOING for awhile.

A lot of people get stuck on that point because DOING is a pain in the tail end a lot of days. You ALWAYS are going to be afraid of making mistakes. You are ALWAYS going to run into frustrations and things that don't work right.

It's ALWAYS going to take longer and be harder than you THOUGHT.

But the people who succeed can tolerate the PAIN OF ACTION. It's easy to sit back and learn. I love it. But DOING means you run into obstacles and things that don't work right.

It means you're confronted with the details of learning programs. It means you'll screw up and make mistakes. Worse than that, it means you'll DO things that don't work!

For every 1 thing that WORKS, you'll likely try TEN that don't. And I don't care WHO you are. If someone denies that, they either don't have much experience, they're lying or they aren't honest with themselves.

I remember discussing this whole topic with Corey in times past. I would think I was the only one who had such and so thing not work right. I'd talk to Corey and find out that he'd had the same exact issues.

It made me feel a little better that I wasn't the only one in the world who had things that didn't work as I anticipated.

I hope this article gives you a little more clarity on the fundamental dilemma of Internet marketers and puts you on the path to greater profits.

Little Johnny's kindergarten class was on a field trip to their local police station where they saw pictures, tacked to a bulletin board, of the 10 most wanted criminals.

One of the youngsters pointed to a picture and asked if it really was the photo of a wanted person.

"Yes," said the policeman. "The detectives want very badly to capture him."

Little Johnny asked, "Why didn't you keep him when you took his picture?"

Expert Advice

Each week I'll publish some tips or advice. I'll try to cover every subject I can think of, but if you have any suggestions, please send them to me at the e-mail address listed below.

8 Fool Proof Ways To Intensify Your Profits

1. Create benefit intensifiers for your list of ad copy benefits. Example, The Benefit: "Save More Time", The Benefit's Intensifier: "Never Seen Before".

2. Use a little humor in your ad copy. It could be the little extra motive you need to close a sale. People are usually persuaded easier if they're in a good mood.

3. Ask your visitors questions that induce thoughts, feelings, memories and emotions that will influence them to buy.

4. Tell your visitors what their friends or family will probably think when they buy your product. People care about what other people think of them.

5. Use blue, underlined text links. People have been branded that blue, underlined text are links. You do not want to lose visitors by using a different color.

6. Add an extra profit stream by selling the reprint rights to your web site content. It could be articles, e-books, reports, etc.

7. Spy on your competitors by buying their products. You'll find out about their customer service, follow up marketing, up sell offers, etc.

8. Allow your visitors to assume you are a large corporation. Use professional web design, graphics, content, customer service, etc.

It's Your Dime - Reader's Feedback

Denise,

Want to get rid of rodents? Get a cat, heck get two cats. In every apartment and now my second home, I've always had a cat. In fact, one of my cats, named Uncle, just caught a mouse three weeks ago. And he ate it. Eeewwwwwwwwwwwww! Better in his tummy than in my house. Hopefully you are not allergic to cats. You can even train your cat to be an outside cat. He'll roam around your house during the day and come in at night. Cats rule!!!

Looking forward to the next newsletter.

Karen's referring to my complaint in the last issue of having some shrews in my garage. As I told Karen...

I do have 2 cats, but I don't want them outside. I live only a couple hundred feet from a main highway on one side and a freeway on the other.

I was going to let them in the garage with the door closed, but the critters are going in and out of crevices so they probably wouldn't be able to get them.

PLUS, I don't want to see the catch, nor clean it up. LOL
