My 2 Cents Worth - Editor's Chit-Chat

Hi All!

Welcome to another Sunday with yours truly and thanks so much for letting me be a small part of your day. :~) If you're new today, a warm welcome to you. I hope you'll enjoy the issue.

If you live in the U.S. I hope you have a safe and happy 4th of July, and if you're traveling please be careful. And if you're Canadian, Happy Canada Day to you! For the rest of you, happy Sunday. :~)

Did you ever do something so stupid that you couldn't believe you did it? (I hope so because otherwise I'll really look like a doofus if I'm the only one who does that every now and then. LOL) Here's what happened...

My yard has 4 beautiful flower beds full of plants, flowers and bushes. Some of the flowers, especially the roses, started wilting and just not looking very healthy.

So I decided I better give them some plant food, which should have been a simple task, but noooooooo, I had to make it difficult. :~) I've honestly never done it before... because I've never had flowers... because I'm not very good with them. LOL But I bought this house last November, flower beds and all.

So I went to the store and found a package with 2 bottles of liquid plant food and a hose nozzle that you attach the bottle to and just spray it on. (It mixes with water as you spray.) But being the thrifty shopper that I am, I thought $15 was too much for that because they had 4 bottles of plant food for only $10, so that works out to $10 for the darn hose nozzle itself.

Miss Brainiac here decided to get the 4 bottles of food and 2 empty spray bottles. I came home and poured plant food into one spray bottle and water into the other. I proceeded to spray plant food directly on the flowers and their leaves, followed by a misting of water.

I didn't get very many of my flowers sprayed though, when the wind kicked up and started blowing the plant food on me. Not wanting to end up with it in my eyes I thought I'd quit until the wind died down, which as it turns out, was a good idea.

Within about an hour I noticed the flowers I had sprayed were wilting and dying. I suppose my idea would have worked if I had sprayed enough water on them to dilute the plant food properly. But instead, I killed my flowers by overdosing them on plant food! LOL

Luckily I stopped spraying when I did, because I only killed a few. Needless to say, I went back to the store and bought the dumb hose nozzle. LOL

Thank goodness I'm not that bad with children and pets, huh? LOL

It's time to let you get on with the rest of the issue. I'll see you here in 2 weeks. Until then, be profitable!

Denise

Joint Ventures: Your Key to Free Traffic
by Denise Hall

There are plenty of ways to get free traffic to your website, but one of the best and most lucrative is through Joint Ventures.

Simply put, a Joint Venture is two or more people joining forces for the benefit of both, or all, of them. This can be done in many ways and the ideas for JVs are endless.

Here are some tips for creating lucrative Joint Ventures:

1. Approach potential JV partners who have large mailing lists. We've all heard that the "money is in the list," so make sure you're "borrowing" the biggest lists you can find.

2. Offer a free copy of your product so they can review it and recommend it to their lists. An endorsement always sells better than a solo ad because the members of the mailing list trust the person who's recommending the product.

3. Always be professional in your JV proposal letter. If you don't know how to write one, ask a friend to help you or hire a professional copywriter. The worst thing you can do is send off an amateur-looking JV proposal letter.

4. Make them an offer they can't refuse. Sweeten the deal by giving them the biggest chunk of the commissions and/or a bonus e-book or software that they can resell for 100% profits. After all, they're helping you promote your product, so give them something to make it worth their while.

It doesn't matter how big or small your business is. This is a fantastic way to make your name and your product well-known. Find as many JV partners as you can. The more partners you have, the more traffic you'll get to your website without paying for advertising.

Expert Advice

Each week I'll publish some tips or advice. I'll try to cover every subject I can think of, but if you have any suggestions, please send them to me at the e-mail address listed below.

9 Killer Tips To Make Your Ads Sell Like Crazy

1. Use plenty of examples in your ad copy. This will allow your whole target audience to understand your pitch completely.

2. Gain extra credibility by using terms your readers may not understand, but can follow by explaining them in simple terms. This will show you're an expert.

3. Reveal how excited you are about the product. You could use words or a picture of yourself looking very excited.

4. Tell your target audience you were in their current position. Next, tell them how your product pulled you out of that position.

5. Challenge your readers at the end of your ad. Make a bet with them - if your product doesn't solve their problem, offer them a free product in return.

6. Get your audience involved in your ad by asking them questions. They'll automatically want to answer the questions in their mind.

7. Start your ad with a story. It draws people right into your ad and they forget they're being sold to. You could start with "Once upon a time..."

8. Use less than five points in your ad copy. If you start revealing too many topics, your readers might get confused and quit reading.

9. Make your target audience's experience reading your ad positive. You could educate them or tell a joke to make them laugh.
