Welcome to another Sunday with yours truly and thanks so much for letting me be a small part of your day. :~) If you're new today, a warm welcome to you. I hope you'll enjoy the issue. I have a question... how come summer always flies by so fast? It's hard to believe it's already the "unofficial" end of summer with Labor Day being tomorrow. Luckily the weather is still nice, but in this neck of the woods it could turn cold any day now. Hopefully it won't, though. In fact, this coming week is actually supposed to be the hottest we've had all summer. Go figure! LOL Last night I went to the stock car races to watch my 16 year old nephew. This is his second year racing, and he had a good chance of taking 1st place in points for the season, but unfortunately he didn't quite make it. Of course, there's always next year, but he was really disappointed. It was fun watching him, though. I haven't been to the stock car races in over 20 years, since my brother (his dad) raced. Tomorrow I'm going to watch my son's rock band play in Mackinac (pronounced Mack-in-AW) City after the annual Labor Day bridge walk. The Mackinac Bridge is the only way to get from Michigan's lower peninsula to the upper peninsula, and it's normally for motor vehicles only. But on Labor Day they shut down part of it and let people walk the 5 miles across. I've never quite figured out the "fun" in that, but whatever floats their boat, I guess. LOL I'm just going for the band. :) It's time to let you get on with the rest of the issue and your weekend. Be safe and have fun at the BBQ's or beach. I'll see you here in 2 weeks. See For Yourself! http://tinyurl.com/5tpp7n Feature Article The Fastest Way Grow Your Online Business By Denise Hall Constant promotion of your business is the key to getting more targeted traffic to your website, which leads to more sales of your product. In order to get highly targeted traffic, you must find the right people to expose your product to. This is called your "target market." The most obvious thing you think of is to put ads in front of your target market, right? Well, that's one way to get traffic. But there are other ways, too. Writing articles, for example, is a great way to gain new website visitors. When you write about a subject you're familiar with, you're an expert in the eyes of your readers. Establishing this "expert status" helps build trust. People rarely buy from someone they don't know so it's important to gain their trust. Internet users are hungry for information about anything and everything. (They don't call it the "Information Highway" for nothing, you know.) No matter what your product or service may be, there are people looking for it. First, find ezines related to your subject. Just go to your favorite search engine and type "ezine directories" in the search bar. You'll get a whole list to choose from, and when you visit each directory you'll find many different categories of ezines. Locate some good ezines that pertain to your topic. For instance, if the subject of your article is how to lose weight without dieting, find ezines specifically about losing weight. That would be a highly targeted market if you're selling weight-loss products. But you could also find ezines related to general health. It would be slightly less targeted, but still close enough to warrant your time and effort. Next, submit your articles to the ezine publishers. Be sure to address the publishers by name, rather than "Dear Publisher." If you can't take the time to find out their name from their website or listing in the ezine directory, don't blame them if they don't take the time to read or print your article. At the end of your articles you're allowed to have a resource box. You'll want to include your name, along with the name of your website and/or your product, and don't forget to include the URL. The readers will enjoy your expertise. Chances are, they'll want to know more about you, so they'll click the link and visit your site. Voila! Targeted traffic to your site. But, here's the kicker. They probably won't buy your product. Not right then, anyway. There could be a number of reasons for this: 1. They just "met" you, and even though you're an expert in their eyes, they don't feel they "know" you well enough yet. 2. They don't have the money for your product right now. 3. They're busy and don't have time to explore your site to see exactly which product fits their needs. I think you get the idea. For any number of reasons, those potential customers are going to leave your site within seconds. You've got targeted visitors at your website, but they're not ready to order, so what do you do? Capture their names and e-mail addresses! Offer them a free report about losing weight in exchange for their contact information. In fact, you can offer them the very article they just read! That way they can refer back to it whenever they want to. You can also offer them a free newsletter, free updates about new products or anything else you want. Just capture those names and e-mail addresses! You can use a pop-up with your offer and a form for their information, or you can use a simple form on your web page. Either way, do whatever you can to encourage them to let you contact them in the future. This is where many marketers go wrong. They don't realize that most of their visitors won't buy on that initial visit, and they don't capture that precious contact information. The visitors are interested in what you're selling, they just might not know it yet. But by establishing yourself as an expert and capturing names and e-mail addresses, you're building a list of potential customers. The more articles you spread around the 'net, the faster your list, and your business, will grow, so start writing. :) ------------------------------------- About the Author: Denise Hall has been marketing online since 2002. Online Forum Advertising Posting messages on forums (or online discussion boards) is a great way to get free advertising. When you post a message, include your signature file at the end. Your signature file should be no more than 5 to 6 lines. Include an attention-getting sentence about why they should visit your website or e-mail your auto responder. Some online discussion boards allow you to leave text links at the end of your messages. You will get a better click-through rate with text links than just a normal signature file. Below are three types of messages you could post to forums: 1. Informative Comments Post information that would be informative to the people who participate on the forum. It could be an article or a study you've completed. 2. Ask Questions Post a question on forum that you would like answered. This will give you a chance to meet other experts and it could lead to profitable joint ventures. 3. Answer Questions Post answers to other people's questions on the forum. When you answer questions you will become known as an expert on the subject. Before posting to any forum (or elsewhere) read the FAQ's or rules first. They will tell you what kinds of posts are allowed. Read the forum messages for a few days before posting your own message to see what type of messages are being posted. Never post messages on a board that are unrelated to the subject.
