My 2 Cents Worth - Editor's Chit-Chat
Hi All! Welcome to another Sunday with yours truly and thanks so much for letting me be a small part of your day. :~) If you're new today, a warm welcome to you. I hope you'll enjoy the issue. Autumn was in the air here in northern Michigan the last time I published the newsletter, then summer came back. But it's going to turn chilly again over the next few days. I guess we can't stop Mother Nature from doing her thing, huh? :~) Some of the leaves have already changed colors and my yard is full of them. I planned to rake them up yesterday but it was much too windy. I watched leaves blow from the neighbor's yard into my yard, then from my yard into the neighbor's yard on the other side of me. Unfortunately, they didn't all blow through, so I'll have to go out and rake today. LOL But most of the trees are still green so I think raking will become a weekly event for a little while. OK, on to some important news... There's been some recent scam activity using PayPal debit cards. If you have a PayPal debit card I'd suggest you check your account every day for unauthorized charges. If you find any, contact the card company right away to dispute the charges. (PayPal isn't being very helpful right now.) Then continue checking your account daily for at least a month to be sure there are no more charges by the scammer. So far the known fraudulent charges have been small - between $10 and $50 - but scammers frequently start with small amounts to see if the card will work. If the small charges go through they know the credit card number wasn't flagged as stolen yet so they'll try bigger amounts. I guess that wraps it up for today. I'll see you here in 2 weeks. "If they did it, I can too!" he insisted. When Bob and Brian arrived at the lake, they rented a boat and began paddling. When they got to the middle of the lake, Bob stepped off of the side of the boat ... and nearly drowned. When he tried to climb back into the boat, he tipped it, and Brian also nearly drowned. Hanging on to the capsized boat, they slowly pushed it back to shore. When Bob arrived back at the family farm, he asked his grandmother for an explanation. "Grandma, why can I not walk on water like my father, and his father, and his father before him did on their 21st birthday?" The feeble old grandmother took Bob by the hands, looked into his eyes, and explained, "That's because your father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were born in January. You were born in May."

It's Your Dime - Reader's Feedback
Hi Denise, I fully agree about what you say about poor customer service. Twice recently I have tried to purchase products from a very well known Ebay marketeer. As I do not possess a credit card I opted to pay by Paypal as illustrated by the "Pay Now" button. On the first occasion there was no option to pay by Paypal on the payment page so I contacted him and eventually got a reply two days later giving me a Paypal link. I bought but then did not receive the goods. That took another email and another two days and an obnoxious reply from the "Support" team. On the second occasion there was a Paypal option on the Payment page but again I did not receive the goods until I emailed again and waited a day for yet another obnoxious reply with the link for my goods. I sent a reply telling them that if they are saying that you can pay with Paypal then that should be the case and it should not be up to me to prove I have parted with my cash to get what I have paid for. I also pointed out that the sale page stated that "delivery will be immediate even if it is 3am". To date they have sent another email, obnoxious of course, that completely refused to answer my critics. Now the products are good but as one of them is a membership site and they will take a payment every month I do not think I can trust them so I will cancel my subscription as although the content is good and the man knows his stuff, his support team do not know theirs and have a bad attitude with it. I have also sent two email's to different "Exit Grabber" type software sellers. They all proclaim that they CANNOT be blocked. As most of the people I know use Firefox with the NoScript extension I can assure you that they CAN be blocked very easily. I accept that not running NoScript will ensure that they appear but to sell a product with misleading sales bull is not something that I accept. We are now a week in and neither has replied unsurprisingly. Enough winging, great site, lots of good info, keep it up. Best Regards John Lee Your contributions here.
