    My 2 Cents Worth - Editor's Chit-Chat



    Hi All!

    Welcome to another Sunday with yours truly and thanks so much for letting me be a small part of your day. :~) If you're new today, a warm welcome to you. I hope you'll enjoy the issue.

    I looked outside when I woke up this morning and there was white stuff on the ground. Just 3 days ago the temperature was near 70 degrees, which is unseasonably warm for northern Michigan, but it sure changed fast. LOL

    It's hard to believe the holidays are just around the corner. Once Thanksgiving rolls around, the whole next month flies by in a whirlwind of activity, and then boom! Christmas is here. LOL

    The other day a friend of mine told me that she's been wrapping gifts to get them mailed out to her family already. She's much more ambitious than I am when it comes to Christmas shopping. I hate to get caught up in the holiday crowds, but at the same time, I procrastinate on doing any shopping at all.

    I guess it comes from having worked at the world's largest retailer for 12 years, and being in the midst of it all the time. I lost my holiday spirit for awhile, although I'll admit it's getting better since I left my "day job" there over 3 years ago.

    I still hate shopping in overcrowded stores, though, so maybe I should start my shopping before the crowds get too bad. LOL

    But, geez, it's hard to believe the holidays are just around the corner! (Or did I already say that? LOL)

    I'll see you here in 2 weeks. Until then, be profitable!

    Success Doesn't Happen Overnight

    We've all heard that old saying, right? Of course, we have. And it's so true!

    Nothing we try to accomplish in our lives will bring us to our ultimate goals overnight. Everything takes time. Was Rome built in a day? I don't think so.

    Why, then, do people think they'll become rich in a few days, a week or a month if they run an internet business?

    Good question. Maybe it's because there's so much hype out there. It sounds good to say "just sign up 20 people and the money will flow in!"

    Yes, actually, that does sound good. But no one tells you the hard part is signing up those 20 people. I'm not saying it can't be done. I just mean it takes time and effort on your part.

    How many of us have fallen for the "get rich quick" promises? Probably most of us. Online and offline, there are plenty of scams and hype. It's easy to get caught up in the presentation of the program and think that it will work fast. Unfortunately, when it doesn't work out immediately, alot of people give up and feel like failures.

    Working at any business takes time and effort. I used to sell cosmetics door to door for a great company. I'm sure all of you know the one I'm talking about. There's no doubt the products sell themselves. But I still didn't have a large client base or hundreds of sales overnight.

    Why? Because customers want to know you're reliable. They need to see you at their door with the new brochure every other week. Eventually they will place a small order to see if you deliver it when promised. Once you gain their confidence they will order more as time goes on. One by one they start to place orders and your customer base grows.

    The same holds true for internet businesses. A good business person follows up with his/her customers. If you don't have an autoresponder, get one.

    Customer follow-up is one of the biggest keys to a successful business, online and offline. Your customers need to know you are there to answer questions about your product and to help them if they have any problems with it.

    Internet businesses are a great way to earn money from home. You can set your own hours and take a day off when you wish. But, as with any other business, you do need to work at it. Whether you work to build a downline or simply advertise your products to gain sales, you have to work.

    Nothing in life is free. There is no such thing as "get rich quick." Success doesn't happen overnight. But if you really want to succeed it will happen. Be patient and never give up on your dreams!

    9 Killer Tips To Make Your Ads Sell Like Crazy

    1. Use plenty of examples in your ad copy. This will allow your whole target audience to understand your pitch completely.

    2. Gain extra credibility by using terms your readers may not understand, but can follow by explaining them in simple terms. This will show you're an expert.

    3. Reveal how excited you are about the product. You could use words or a picture of yourself looking very excited.

    4. Tell your target audience you were in their current position. Next, tell them how your product pulled you out of that position.

    5. Challenge your readers at the end of your ad. Make a bet with them - if your product doesn't solve their problem, offer them a free product in return.

    6. Get your audience involved in your ad by asking them questions. They'll automatically want to answer the questions in their mind.

    7. Start your ad with a story. It draws people right into your ad and they forget they're being sold to. You could start with "Once upon a time..."

    8. Use less than five points in your ad copy. If you start revealing too many topics, your readers might get confused and quit reading.

    9. Make your target audience's experience reading your ad positive. You could educate them or tell a joke to make them laugh.
