My 2 Cents Worth - Editor's Chit-Chat



Hi All!

Welcome to another Sunday with yours truly and thanks so much for letting me be a small part of your day. :~) If you're new today, a warm welcome to you. I hope you'll enjoy the issue.

Is it just me, or has this year flown by? It's hard to believe it's November already and Thanksgiving is just a few days away!

I had an early Thanksgiving dinner with friends last night. I ate so much I felt as if my stomach inflated like the girl who turned into a giant blueberry in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I told the others they'd have to roll me out to my car when it was time to go home. LOL

My daughter and son-in-law will be here for the Holiday... sort of. They won't arrive until Thursday night after they go to the Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers football game in Detroit that day. So we're having our Thanksgiving dinner on Friday.

But who cares? I love Holiday dinners, no matter when they take place. There's so much good food and good times with family and friends.

I'm really looking forward to seeing them. Now, if only we could get my son, daughter-in-law and two granddaughters to come from Wyoming, I'd be a really happy camper! :~)

It's time to let you get on with the rest of the issue.

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving if you live in the U.S. and if you're going somewhere, drive safely.

Three Pay Per Click Advertising Alternatives

Like most businesses today you probably turned to advertising on the Internet as a way to increase sales with little effort. Unfortunately you probably have also been forced into forking out big dollars in the bidding wars for keywords in competitive markets. Even worse is that most advertisers have to deal with click fraud and junk traffic that can quickly eat up any profits made using PPC advertising.

Fortunately for both small and large advertisers on the 'net today there are many other players in the pay per click traffic business that can deliver a constant stream of inexpensive traffic to your sites. Let's look at three options currently available.

Microsoft entered into the pay per click advertising business with the release of adCenter. So far it has proven to be a good alternative and has quickly gained popularity with former Yahoo and AdWords advertisers. Even still with its wide appeal as an advertiser using adCenter it is possible to get massive amounts of traffic with competitive keywords without having to break the bank.

One of the lesser known traffic networks out there is an outfit by the name of GoClick. Even though you have to bid using GoClick, you can buy keywords for incredibly cheap prices in the pennies. Quality can be a bit of a problem but GoClick is good if you are promoting a mass appeal type product in the health or wealth markets as your ads tend to be displayed on sites that are not highly relevant to your chosen keywords.

StumbleUpon is a new kind of traffic site. On one hand they are a social bookmarking site yet they also sell off traffic. StumbleUpon traffic is targeted based on the use of a special toolbar that users install on their computer which then keeps track of the types of sites they visit. They can then "stumble" a random page and be taken to an advertiser's page. In spite of the potential quality issues, at only five cents per click StumbleUpon can deliver thousands of visitors per day and be hugely profitable.

So we have covered the three viable alternatives. For the new marketer it is important to note that when starting a campaign for a new site or affiliate promotion you should not pay for traffic... It can cost a bundle with no guarantee of any kind of return on investment.

For brand new site promotional campaigns or affiliate links you are much better off using the low cost or free methods of traffic generation such as forums or article marketing which can still have great results for the amount of effort put in.

He took them into the bathroom and dunked their little heads in the toilet bowl, one at a time. Then he said, "You are now baptized!" When they got outside, one of them asked, "What religion do you think we are?"

The oldest one said, "We're not Kathlick, .....because they pour the water on you." "We're not Babtis, .....because they dunk all of you in the water." "We're not Methdiss, ......because they just sprinkle water on you." The littlest one said, "Didn't you smell that water!" They all joined in asking, "Yeah! What do you think that means?" "I think it means we're Pisscopailians.
